About the Car
This is my car – a 2007 Mazda 6. I bought this car back in the fall of 2006, brand new, and it’s been running great in the 55k+ miles I’ve driven since. I feel this is just the right car I need to take a three-month trip. It’s comfortable, has space to hold all my luggage and supplies, and it’s got a good size engine to get me up the mountains I will encounter.
Those who followed me along in my 2005 road trip might recall I drove a 1997 Plymouth Neon on that journey.
Although the Neon served me just fine, I would consider the Mazda a definite upgrade. One of the best features is that it is much roomier. When it is time to rest, I can recline the seat and stretch my legs to just before the pedals. Back in 2005 it was a bit crammed, so I needed to put my feet up on the dash.

Hi Joe,
So excited to keep up with you about this! Georgia to NY by way of Alaska — amazing tagline!
my neon – you should have taken the offer? it was going to make a great go-cart for Liam
Yes, Joe, I’m reading every day. Your photos are beautiful! Small world. I didn’t realise you had been in Acworth. I’ve friends living there (previously from Endicott) Phone and mail contact for years. I don’t know how you went from NY winters to GA summers. Enjoy!
